Setting up Opera
Introduction
To get Opera to work with GhostSurf, you must tell it to send its
information through GhostSurf (rather than directly to the Internet).
To accomplish this, you need to tell Opera to use GhostSurf as
a "proxy;" that is, GhostSurf works as an agent for Opera, forwarding
all its requests to the Internet and retrieving the pages and images
it needs.
The subsequent section shows you how to tell Opera to use GhostSurf
as a proxy.
Setting the Proxy
The first step is to open Opera's "Preferences" window. To do this,
go to the File menu (in Opera) and choose "Preferences..." as shown.
You will see the window pictured below.
Select the "Network" item in the list at the left; you'll see the
items shown above appear. Click on the "Proxy servers" button
as shown. You'll see the window below appear.
In this window, on the first line (HTTP) and the second line (HTTPS),
type in "127.0.0.1" (as shown) in the first column, and type in "7212"
into the port column (for both, as shown). Make sure you check the
buttons on the right for HTTP and HTTPS. You don't need
to fill in any of the other items in the window or check any
other buttons.
When you're done, click on the "OK" button in this window and
all the other windows below to save the new GhostSurf settings in
Opera. Now you're ready to use Opera with GhostSurf!
